Top 5 Cryptocurrency Apps on Android in Nigeria: Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the cryptocurrency app market in Nigeria witnessed notable activity among the top Android applications. Here's a closer look at the performance of these apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Pi Network, developed by SocialChain, showed a decline in weekly downloads from about 131K in early October to approximately 56K by the end of December. Despite this, the app maintained a robust weekly active user base, ranging from 2.7M to 3.1M throughout the quarter.

Ultrapro Exchange: Buy Crypto initially experienced a high number of downloads, with 592K in late September, but saw a significant drop to just 63 by early December. The active user count followed a similar downward trend, starting at 1.4M and decreasing to around 50K by the end of the quarter.

OKX: Buy Bitcoin BTC & Crypto recorded a peak in weekly downloads of 221K in late October, which then tapered off to about 7K by the end of the year. Active users peaked at over 1.1M in mid-November, before declining to approximately 462K.

DoctorX saw a steep drop in downloads, from 249K in early October to just 191 by the end of December. However, the app's active user base was relatively stable until mid-December, reaching a high of 508K before decreasing to about 70K.

Lastly, Phantom experienced a surge in downloads in December, peaking at 241K in mid-December. The app's active users also saw a significant increase, topping 1.1M at the same time, and closing the quarter with over 1.1M active users.
